Building A Great Today and a Better Tomorrow!

Who We Are

The Brewton Area YMCA, serving our community since 1988, strengthens the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Y was founded to improve health and quality of life by providing programs for children and families of all backgrounds. Everyone is welcome at the Y. We believe that positive, lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health, and our community. We serve over 18,000 participants annually including 3,837 individual and family memberships from five counties. The Y sees every interaction as an opportunity for learning, growing, and connecting people. We strive to help people of all ages achieve their individual health goals, bring families closer together, and serve as a gathering place for seniors. Children and teens benefit from our character-based programs that help them develop social, leadership, and life skills under the guidance of caring adults. We provide people with the knowledge, inspiration, and support they need to stay active and healthy. One of our key principles is that no one should be turned away due to their inability to pay. The Y provides over $65,700 annually in financial assistance to youth, families, and seniors to help pay for memberships and programs. This is made possible through the generosity of our members and our community.
